Journal of 01-04

Last Sunday, when I was cleaning up my room from bulky unnecessary things, by surprised I found my old journal and some corresponding letters, it was sealed well in a wooden box in my cupboard, it was laying there for almost 10 years. I was very happy because I was assuming that it was gone somewhere long time ago.

So, before I went to sleep at the same day, I tried to re-open and re-read it from the first page. The journal has the starting date on January 1st, 2001 until December 31st, 2004. The time where I was at 2nd grade in my collage, until I worked at my first job at PT. Pasifik Satelit Nusantara. Thanks God ! It was like a time machine for me, by reading the detail of it, page-by-page, date-by-date, it just like a blitzkrieg !.

I can recall all the memories behind, it has so many chapters of brotherhood, friendship, family, romance, struggle as well as a lot of conflicts and others bitter-sweet. At that moment, I didn't have any feasibility to predict what I am going to be in the future, I was could not imagine that I could pass all the obstacles behind, until the path bring me to the place where I stand today.

The lesson here, it is all about process, GOD will not give you everything you want, but definitely GOD will gives you everything you need, everything is on time, but not in your timeline it is in HIS timeline.

Alhamdulillah, thank you my Almighty GOD for YOUR guidance !

Run For Your Life

It's been a long time for me not doing any kind of exercise as I used to be doing. I realized that my previous job has taken most of my time and attention to focus on to it. If I am not wrong the latest time when I did regular exercise was on 2010 ... It is not good at all, so please don't follow it okay ...

I would say Alhamdulillah,  as my new job has very much different environment as the previous. Now I can utilize my spare time to do all activities which I have abandoned for years. One of the example is exercise. Actually I used to be doing practice Tae Kwon Do and Kendo in regular basis, but for now I don't have any plan yet to do so. My choice is goes to the cheapest sport in the world, which is jogging. Why I call it the cheapest ? Absolutely, all you need is only our intention and motivation, though it is the most difficult one, isn't it ?

Starting from last 4 weeks I keep doing it during week end, my target is to run for 5 km on Saturday / Sunday (it already achieved) maybe soon I will doing it every morning for 1-2 km per day.

Even though running is cheap and simple, it  has many benefit for our health which mention as follows :
  1. It is capable to make potential weight loss.
  2. It Improved cardiovascular and respiratory.
  3. It reduced total blood cholesterol.
  4. Strengthening of bones.
  5. Strengthening of the immune system.
  6. It can help us to stay in shape by increasing our metabolism.
Some studies also reveals that running can also have psychological benefits, as running also improved self-esteem and emotional state. It is recommended as therapy for people with clinical depression.

One more thing to be considered, maintaining healthy is very expensive nowadays, so let's reduce any potential risk by doing regular exercise and doing good and healthy lifestyle.

On my mark ! ... Set ! ... GOOOOO !!

The First 30 Days

Today, 20 June 2013 ...  I have just exactly completing my 1st month on board with Cisco Systems Indonesia. So far I've learned many new things during last 30 days ... Adopting with new system, new culture, new college, new work load and, new customer and so on.

To be honest, it was a quite difficult for me to narrowing down all the gaps with the senior members, as most of them are mobile plus they are very busy on handling daily operational escalations and now I am still working to make it level. However I have involved on each activity for the accounts where I was assigned to. At first I just feel the progress was going a bit slow - I hope it's only my feeling.

No need to worry right now, it just a beginning, I think it is normal to have a good confusion in this phase - so it means I am thinking !

A Watch and A Ruler

Wednesday - June 19, 2013 10 PM.

I just completed a draft of my weekly report, so that tomorrow morning I just need to send it across.

Almost time to sleep now, but suddenly I just thinking about the time ... the time we have gone through, the time where we are right now ... and the time in the future where we are going to go through ...

Maybe all of you have ever thinking the same thing as I think right now ...

Lets do simple following equation ...

1 day is last for 24 hours, ideally we utilizes 16 hours of it for doing all things for living, while remaining 8 hours is the allocation for us to taking rest ... or sleep. Roughly we may say 1/3 of each day in our day is dedicated for sleeping ... do you agree so far? Good ...

In a month, 30 days multiply by 1/3 = 10 days of sleeping
In a year, 365 days multiply by 1/3 = 121 days of sleeping

Lets take an example, average a human's age nowadays is approximately 60 years- don't worry this is only to make the calculation easy, I hope all of us will live more, more and more prosperous.

Lifetime = 60 years
In days = 60 x 365 = 21,900 days
Number of sleeping day = 21,900 x 1/3 =  7,300 days
Then we convert it back into year = 7,300 / 356 = 20 years

Amazing, within 60 years of our time, we utilizes 20 years of it only for  sleeping !!

In other words, we only have 40 years in our time to deal with everything in our life. I think it is pretty short right?

Now, suppose you have a ruler which is 60 cm long, in which cm are you now? What have you done in previous cm? How many cm more you have before it reach 60? What is your plan to fill it? How well you prepare for it?

Ok, I am sleepy now, time to spend remaining 1/3 day to its purpose ... Good night and sweet dream !

RI-1 Air Force One

Finally it is confirmed that Indonesia once again will have dedicated aircraft to be used as official presidential aircraft, the new aircraft will be expected to be delivered on August 2013. Indonesia government has signed the official agreement with Boeing Commercial Airplanes as the manufacturer on 2010.

Actually the story of presidential aircraft is not a 'new' thing in Indonesia, few decades back during President Soekarno era, Indonesia already have dedicated aircraft and chopper that being used to transport our founding-father whenever and wherever he goes.

At that time, our presidential aircraft were consist of few armadas of Lockheed C-140 JetStar. C-140 is a business jet produced from the early 1960s through the 1970s. All were operates under TNI AU command, I am not sure where it was stationed, probably in Skadron Udara 17 VVIP at Halim Perdanakusuma Air Force Base.

If you are in Yogyakarta, just spend some time to visit Dirgantara Mandala museum which located in the same complex with Adisucipto airport. There you can see, maybe the one and only remain of C-140 JetStar 'SAPTAMARGA'. Below pictures were taken during my visit to that museum on 2010.

During the era of President Soeharto, we don't have any dedicated presidential aircraft in service. To support his travel, President Soeharto policy was always to have it rented from national flag carrier like Garuda Indonesia or Pelita Air Service.

Here is the future:

Indonesia has ordered 1 (one) Boeing Business Jet 2 or BBJ 2.
BBJ 2 was developed from the airframe of the famous Boeing 737-800 series.

Changes from the normal 737 include:

  • Blended winglets for additional fuel economy (5–7% improvement) as standard (winglets are optional on airliner 737s)
  • Self-contained airstairs for disembarking at airports with limited ground support
  • Additional fuel tanks, for intercontinental range
Please refer to below links for more details about aircraft's specification;

With extended 6 fuel tanks for BBJ 2 than regular B737-800 series, it can increases the distance and durationcof flights up to 10 hours non-stop flight or up to 10,000 km, Amazing !

In my opinion, the strategic decision to purchase this presidential aircraft is an 'popular' decision, though it can reduce the operational cost per year, the most important thing is, it will gain our 'NATION's PRIDE' in this region.
